“If I know what love is, it is because of you.” –Hermann Hesse
Congratulations on your engagement! I am delighted that you are considering me as the officiant for your special day. Contact me with your wedding date, and I will respond promptly about my availability.
The First Step
Let’s get to know one another. Tell me what type of ceremony you would like, who will attend and the spiritual traditions, rituals or blessings you would like included. I can also provide a non-religious, civil service if you prefer. Your initial consultation is free.
Creating Together
Just as you and your partner will now begin building a brand-new life together, I will work with you to customize a ceremony that honors and blends the beliefs that both of you bring to this new relationship. The flexibility of an interfaith ceremony allows us to incorporate many traditions—Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Native American, Wicca and others—to create a day that you and your loved ones will cherish for years to come.
Your Vows
I can certainly read marriage vows from “the book,” but I encourage you to write your own vows since they will have a deeper and more meaningful emotional connection.
My Fees
Fees vary based upon your individual needs and desire as well as the complexity of your ceremony. We can discuss fees in more detail when we visit to plan your ceremony.
Holy Unions & Commitment Ceremonies
Although I believe everyone should have the right to tie the knot, weddings currently performed in North Carolina are only legal if between a man and a woman. However, no state or religious body can prevent anyone from sharing love, which knows no boundaries. For this reason, I am delighted to perform commitment ceremonies for gay or lesbian couples. Your love is just as important as that of an opposite-sex couple and can still be celebrated with friends and family in a beautiful and special ceremony.
